Early access
The Windows installer is not public yet. Request early access and we will send you the link.
What you need
- Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- About 400 MB of free disk space and an internet connection.
- No administrator rights: Meeting Ears installs for your Windows account only.
1. Download
Download Meeting-Ears-Setup-version.exe from the link we sent you or from the download page. Only download it from meetingears.com or our email.
Your browser may say the file is not commonly downloaded. In Microsoft Edge, open the … menu next to the download, choose Keep, then Show more → Keep anyway. Chrome shows a similar note with a Keep button.
2. “Windows protected your PC”
Meeting Ears is new and its installer is not yet signed with a code-signing certificate, so Windows SmartScreen may stop it the first time:
- Double-click the installer. If a blue window says Windows protected your PC, click More info.
- Check that the app is Meeting-Ears-Setup-…exe. The publisher shows as Unknown publisher until the installer is signed.
- Click Run anyway.
You only see this when you install. Updates that Meeting Ears installs itself do not show it. We will never ask you to turn off your antivirus or SmartScreen.
3. Install
The installer asks no questions: after a few seconds Meeting Ears is installed in your user folder, a Meeting Ears shortcut is added to the Start menu and the desktop, and the app opens. A slim toolbar appears over your screen.
4. Sign in
Open Settings → Account and choose Continue with Google (your browser opens; finish there and come back) or Sign in with email. With email, open the verification link we send you, then press I have verified. Your 15 free minutes start once the email is verified. Then follow Getting started to prepare your first meeting.
Updates
Meeting Ears keeps itself up to date:
- It checks for a new version shortly after it starts and every few hours, and downloads it in the background.
- When the new version is ready, a note above the panel says Meeting Ears version is ready. Press Restart now to install it (it takes a few seconds and the app opens again), or Later.
- After Later, the update installs the next time you quit Meeting Ears.
- The note never appears while you are listening to a meeting, and a restart cannot interrupt one.
Checking for updates sends nothing about you or your meetings: it only downloads the list of versions and the new installer.
Uninstall
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Meeting Ears and choose Uninstall. Your saved meetings, projects and sign-in stay on the computer in %APPDATA%\meeting-ears-overlay, so a reinstall picks them up. To remove them too, delete that folder after uninstalling. See Privacy and data.
